Somebody tried to break in!

Hey guys, tonight somebody tried to break into my truck. My drivers side door handle trim and lock cylinder are trashed. Does anybody know what the part numbers/prices are? How would I go about getting the cylinder re-keyed? Thanks

kick their ***!!! did you see them!!! i would kill whoever would do something like that to my truck.

Anyway, now that your handle trim is trashed you might want to try the LT handle and trim. It might look good

You can get them re-keyed by the dealer (about 90 bucks) or a locksmith can do it......

if you take it to home depot,, and ask nice enough... sometimes the guy that makes keys in the hardware department will do it... (I used to do it for people, and had to do it on my truck last year, for the same reason)

If I'd seen them, I'd probably be in jail instead of in front of my computer. How much do the LT handles go for and do they only come in chrome?

And I need a whole new cylinder, they jammed a screwdriver into mine.

Check with a locksmith. Alot of times they can sell you the lock cylinder cheaper than the dealer and they will re key it for you.

Do you have an alarm? If not, probably a good time to buy one.

Remember that here in Texas you have the right to shoot any trespasser on your property after dark. So I think that you would be protected under the law if you were to protect your property from a would be burglar.

I was at a resturant having drinks so it wouldn't apply.

I ordered some from my local Ford dealer and they were $104.00 each. I didn't think it was that bad for a good looking mod like that.

Often vandilism like that is covered under comprehensive (sp?) and if you file a claim it will not make your insurance go up. It depends on what your deductible is (mine is $0) bu it maybe worth looking into.

Yea I would think it is covered under insurance....even if your auto doesnt cover it, in many cases home owners will...its worth checking.

I recently had the same thing happen.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=226161

I emailed www.fordparts.com, showed them a picture of the damage and they gave me the following replacement part numbers:

6L3Z-1522405-BA HANDLE ASSEMBLY - DOOR -
F85Z-1521990-BB LOCK CYLINDER WITH K

These parts are supposed to be exact replacements including black color and keyless entry. Ken at www.fordparts.com was extremely helpful.
