Ok, Now I really need a rear view Camera/Monitor system...

Hi

I have a lifted FX4 Reg Cab with a Leer Bed Cover..
I just can't see small things or small cars back there.

I don't know about Monitors nor Cameras.
Any recomendations?
I supose a wide view angle is better
I want it Night watch capable

The $$ depends on the coolness/functionality factor.

Any tips or guide on this will be apreciated

Thank you

Giorgio

Hmm.. between 100.00 and 400.00us...
For 400.00 or more I would need to like it a lot I supose.

I just want a good view and if possible a cool way of having the monitor on my truck..
I like the idea of having it on the Rear Mirror but not sure how the image quality nor screen size combo will need to be.

Thanks

Giorgio

This one came off ebay...it seems like it was a $100 or so. The quality is good and the night vison is good. For the money its a winner!

Er.., sorry, did't know "Lifted" and "Leveled" were terms for specific situations(I'm from Mexico).
I used a kit on the front and added 2 leafs on the rear.
My Signature doesn't have the LEVELed pics BTW.., they're on my gallery

IMO if you LIFTED the FRONT and LIFTED the back you are LIFTED! I wouldn't worry about semantics.

Man, that is cool with the rear view? What are the requirements to hook one up to an aftermarket dvd screen? Can most or all do it? Thx

That's not going to get you very far in the world of reverse cam/ monitor..... My setup has a double DIN headunit in the dash like RamSS/T's and the same camera and total cost of ONLY that is right at $1000. Of course the headunit is not just a monitor, it is a complete radio, but I just can't see doing that for less than $500 and making it a clean install with good equipment.

And for mlawdawg: Most in-dash DVD units have inputs for reverse cameras that automatically switch to that input when it is sensed (when the camera turns on when put in reverse)

Here's mine..........

I guess so, yea.
When I went to a Car electronics store I asked for the DVD player and they said like $1000 but because I'm not interested in entertaining(Music, Movies, Videos, etc) I forgot about it.
With my 6-CD Mp3 player I'm happy, so I'm not considering removing it.
So, a fairly good monitor to put in a reasonable place would be fine.

Yours looks very cool

thank you

Giorgio
