Here comes a new tranny!!!

Just got off the phone with the dealership.
All I have to say is thank god for my salesman. He picked up my truck today and brought it in for me.
The Ford tech said nothing was wrong or he couldn't find it. So my salesman took him for a ride and it did it 3 times. Tech, placed an order for a new transmission today.
So I am going to loose the truck for 2 or 3 days next week.
He also used the stereo as a reason not to replace my amp. But my salesman got that on order too.

Wow

Youre lucky that you have an awesome salesman and a dealership that will work well with you. I hope my dealership will do the same if I run into any problems.

Good luck

Mine started out as a tranny, then turned into a driveshaft.. then a transfer case.. then a new rearend and finally a new set of tires.

I've got an '05 rolling on an '06 driveline now.

They brought it back home last night after a cumulative 4 weeks in the shop.

My bed no longer does the hula when I drive down the road now though.

I was lucky for my salesman. The tech didn't want to do anything about it.

When you guys are talking your bed shakes you mean just driving down a normal smooth road and it shakes or when going over bumps and it has more shake than it should.

Mine shook when going down a normal, smooth road between 50 & 60 mph. Felt like a tire was way out of balance but it was (evidently several) things in the driveline causing it.

I believe smokestone is having his replaced for the clunk aren't you?

Clunk, hmmmm.... its more of a shuddering. Its hard to describe. Almost like the tranny is jerking in and out of gear. Only during 1st and 2nd gear change.

OK well just after reading all these posts I was starting to worry, when going over bumps and small bumps I can see the sides of the bed shake some but other than that its so far a smooth ride.

My truck has been making a howling noise since it was new the dealership diagnosed it as a problem in the rearend. Anyone dealt with the same problem?

hey smokestone- did you happen to inquire about the gas mpg? im interested to hear their response to you on that- i avg about 9-10 max in the city, and on long trips will get up to about 14 max on the highway- i havent done anything about it, figure it comes with the territory of buying a big truck, but if they did happen to suggest something, i'd love to hear it!
glad you got the shake taken care of post repairs!

What was wrong with your transmission, I must have missed your original post?
