Planning to lift my truck, I have some 2'' or 2.5'' questions
Ok
I have an FX4
I'm planning to lift it on the front.
Do the 2.5'' lifting kits really lift 2.5''?
This is because I really don't want the front to be taller than the rear, not even a little bit.
In order to have a clear idea of how will my truck look like when lifted.. I have used the jack.
So I first measure the distance between the rear fender and the tire.
Then I start to lift the front of the truck with the jack until the front fender reaches the same height on top of the front tire.
BUT... I dont' remember exactly, but it did seem to me that it took less than 2.5'' to reach the same height of the rear.
So.., logically, if the kit really lifts 2.5'' than is going to be taller on the front, which is not good.
Any comments.?
For those who have FX4s and lifted it..., it really needed up to 2.5'' to be even with the rear?
thank you very much
Giorgio

I just installed the 2" auto spring on my 06 FX4 scab. Thought all the photo's of the 2.5" ones made trucks look higher in front and I, like you, did not want front higher than rear at all.
With truck sitting on a level surface, I simply measured the distance between the top of tire and wheel well molding for front and rear. The rear was 2 1/2 inches higher than the front. So I went with the 2" just in case, and now, they are exact, and truck looks perfectly level. Point here is even with front end alignment, all is settled in and tight, I got almost a 2 1/2 " lift out of the 2" levelers. Truck sits perfectly level now. If I did it again, I may even just go with the 1 1/2" levelers. Great inexpensive mod, truck looks great ....
btw, nice color, got the black with gray two tone too..

Thanks for your comments.
Really helps a lot.
Are there 1.5'' lifts and less expensive?
Do you have a link to some picture on the web to have an idea of how they look so I can look them on my local area.
Or if you describe me how are those(shape, material, how or where are they installed).
I might try those first depending of what I find here.
Thank you
