Body Lift Questions, Pics Please

I am think about getting a body lift for my truck. I was wondering what you have to do to the front of the truck when lifting it becuase the details online say you have to do some modifications to the front.

Also for ones that have the body lift do you feel like the truck is as structurly sound as it was from the factory. I lifted my 99 Ranger and 87 F150 with a body lift and I loved it.

Also do you think that it will void any warrenty?

If you have detail pics please let me know.

Thanks!!!

I can't speak on your truck, but I have owned 3 trucks with a body lift. I've never had a problem with any of them. The biggest advantages of a body lift are cost, the ride is not affected and you warranty is not voided. As for the front end, I had to due some custom fabrication to mount some towhooks, but that was it.

Wandell, remember that big DSG that was running a 6" and a 3" body?

Well he said he had fabricated something to make the hitch appear stock, do you have any idea what he did?

He probably cut the mounting brackets and rewelded them.

If I get a 3" body lift on my 01 F150, what is the biggest tires I can put on? I think 315/70R17 right? How much should it cost to get a body lift installed?

body lifts look funny. the trailer hitch will be low, you will see too much in the wheel wells and under the truck, and the front tow hooks will be under the front valence.

If I get one I will buy the gap guards to cover up the gab, I dont have a hitch so that wont stick out and I dont know if I have the front tow hooks.

First off, you can modify the hitch brackets to make it look just like stock, you won't see too much in the wheel-well unless you don't get bigger tires, if you have step bars it'll cover up the frame. Finally, about the tow hooks if you HAVE to keep them, you could always just dremel out the bottom of the opening. However, in my case Im just going to make custom brackets to move my bull bar up so you won't ever know. Body lifts arn't really bad.

Im sure you'll change your mind once you get bored with 35s and want more. .

If you have 4wd, than yes you have tow hooks. If you have a 2wd, more than likely you don't
