Exhaust Question

I'm taking my truck in to get a new exhaust put on tomorrow morning and have a couple questions. I talked to the guy at the shop and he said they can cut off all the pipe behind the Y-pipe and install an all new magnaflow 18" si/so for $300 (ss tips are extra). If I have them put on a si/do with the pipes exiting one on each side behind each wheel it's around $500. I forgot to ask him how much the si/do out the same side is, and it's bound to be cheaper than the other dual config since they don't have to custom make the pipes.

Anyways, is there a difference in sound (outside and drone) in these 3 different setups, and is there any kind of difference on performance? The custom dual setup would be crush bent, where as the others are pre-bent mandral systems. I love the looks of the duals out the opposite sides, just not sure it's worth $200. I want my truck to sound good without the side effect of a lot of drone in the cab.

Between the new exhaust and my Edge showing up on Wednesday my truck is going to feel like a totally new truck.

You can buy the entire bolt-on cat-back system in either configuration for around $400.00 if you shop around and use the coupons available on the internet or get someone to price match. That is how I bought my Magnaflow 16614 that I installed by myself one afternoon.

So is there a big difference between si/so and si/do (both same side and opposite sides) in sound, and any difference on performance? As for getting the duals out the rear, I have yet to see a kit from magnaflow that puts the pipes out behind the tires instead of out from under the bumper like I want. That's why I'm looking at side exit systems like the custom $500 one in my first post.

If you want behind the wheel exit you will have to go with a SISO Magnaflow or pay the extra $$$ and get the custom setup done the way you want it.
