Anybody hooked up an IPOD yet?

I understand there are some converters which use the CD changer controls to control the IPOD... anybody hooked one up yet with good luck?

does that allow control of the ipod? I thought it just gave you access to the AUX button for sound purposes

Yes, the PIE unit just allows you to hook your IPOD up through the earphone jack on the IPOD. You still have to control the IPOD with the IPOD. The PIE unit works well though and a lot of the units that make it feasable to adjust the IPOD through the vehicle people complain how slow they are to do the commands asked to do. With this set-up there is no lag and I like having the IPOD where I can see it and be able to jack with it all I want.

Pie makes some adapters specifically for the IPOD. I'm not sure of the availability for the f150's.

All can be found on www.pie.net

Peripheral Electronics makes a device called the iPod2Car, and it allows for connection AND control of the iPod through the factory stereo. There is one in development for our model trucks and I'm not sure if it's been released yet. I was going to get one of those until Alpine came out with their 2006 head units.
For 2006 Alpine has something new called Full Speed, which allows conncetion and control of the iPod with just a $30 cable. No more $100 box. My new Alpine ships from Crutchfield on Feb 6th. I can't wait!

Good to know....I just hook mine up to the RCA jacks by the DVD player.

I wonder if I can hook a PIE Up inline with the DVD and get the benefits from the DVD and the IPOD control?

Hmmmm

I'd be curious to know. I would think that they both fight over dominance. As long as one is turned off it might work.
