Exclamation Helm Workshop Manual???

Does anyone information on Helm Workshop Manual for 05 F150 XL?

I bought a DVD Manual on Ebay. It’s supposed to be the same thing that Ford mechanics use, but it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. A lot of the times it tells you to take a part off (to get to something else), but it doesn’t tell you HOW to do it. It had a pretty good section on removing the headliner, but I couldn’t find anything on how to change the bulb in the center dome light. That was the whole point in getting it…so I could take things apart without breaking them.

I saw that FxandHarley had some good detailed instructions in his gallery that looked like they came from a manual. I’m looking for something like that…or better.

Found a link in another post to Helm.

Helm’s Workshop Manual, Part FCS1379005, is $165 and 3000 pages. I know it’s a lot of money but if it helps me get things done it should end up paying for itself in the long run.

Does anyone know how detailed it is? Are there illustrations? Are they clear? Does it tell HOW to remove everything? Looking for something that I could completely disassemble and reassemble the entire truck. I’ll never do that of course, but if it’s that detailed then I should be able to get to anything I need without breaking things.

Any other ideas?

That looks like the "official" factory workshop manual. Even those are kinda hit and miss, but they're a lot better than anything Chiltons or Haynes can offer. The Workshop Manual is just that, "workshop" stuff only, if you need wiring diagrams, you'll have to order an EVTM, and if you need driveability/engine performance type stuff, you'll have to order the PC/ED.

The one thing about the paper manuals is that they can be out of date, despite being the same model year you're working on. Ford's pushing their online service manuals that are access via the company website, since those can be updated regularly easier than a paper manual can.

You can purchase the factory manual for one vehicle for year, internet access, for $25 per year. Additional vehicles are $15 per year. Beats the heck out of rewritten crap like Mitchell or Chiltons-Alldata is the only company in the info business that exactly reproduces the factory information.
