Question HELP Trying to Find Tire Chains

Being that I live in So Cal I dont get much of a chance to use tire chains. This is a good thing but I am having a problem finding chains for a trip to the Mammoth Mountain (12' to 14' of snow). The problem is I do not want cable chains but no one will sell regular chains due to what they say are clearance issues, something about "S" class. With my after market tires and wheels and 2 wheel drive what clearence issues are they talking about since the chains will go on the rear wheels and there is alot of room. Anyone here from colder parts of the country have any suggestions?

P.S. How these trucks handle with chains and in the snow?

the neatest thing i have seen are the plastic/rubber "X" pads that strap to the tire,i cant remember the brand, but they seem the safest to use. sorry i dont know much more about them

chains

WWW.tirechains.com, they carry about any chain know to man and I think their pricing is competitive. Recently got a set there for my tractor about 200 bucks cheaper than out of Oregon where I usually get them.

Give me your tire size and I'll give you a quote.

Fast is bad, slow is good. Remember, you're trying to get "there", not get there fast.
