Autospring Install

Is it necessary to remove the 30mm lower control arm bolt to install the spacer? It seems you could disconnect the upper control arm and swing the strut out.

I have read someone here has done this but I wanted to get other opinions before I find that this is impossible and have to go rent tools in the middle of the install.

Thanks for any help.

I had to when I installed mine. The control arm won't go down enough if you don't to get the spring out. I also had to take the brake caliper off so the brake line wouldn't stretch too far. Trust me both of these things help your install.
