Any help on troubleshooting pie install!!!

I recently installed the pie, wired it to the cig lighter power and the roady xt to the switched power (green and yellow wire). The sound quality is as good as everone has stated. problem...there is some background static noise. If i mute the xm roady xt it is the only thing i hear. It gets louder as the volume is turned up. While the xm is playing its not that noticable until there are breaks in the music. Anybody else have this problem? I have the xm unit and the pie grounded to the lower metal support for the center dash.
thanks in advance for any help
JB

It's probably electrical interference from the fuel pump or the alternator...

Call up radio shack and see if they have a "silencer" for it....
...don't remember what the real name is....

do a search,,, there are probably some threads about it... probably dealing with CB radio installs.
