8.8 spline and gearing for 315/70/17s

Does anyone know how to determine the spline count for the front of our trucks without taking them apart? I want to put an Eaton E-locker up front if it will work with what i have. Also, what does everyone recommend for gearing for 6 inch lift with 315/70/17 BFG ATs? I currently have 3:73s non limited slip. I dont want to go to low cause i do more highway driving than off roading.

Thanks

the front is a 28 spline IFS 8.8, with that tire size and your current gearing i recomend 4.56 to get you close to stock after the tire change, good luck

I want to add something... Its high rev 8.8 up front..not a std. High rev is strong than std 8.8 which is very good for front .

all of the IFS rev cut 8.8 front units on the F-150 are 28 spline, to determine spline count on your own you could take off the c clip on the end of the axle and pull it out and count the splines on the end if you really want to be sure, but it is 28 spline trust me
