ahhh I get it now...but why in the heck would Ford do this? Did they do this on purpose? Is it hard to install such a kit? Sorry if I'm getting off topic!

I have seen the other commercial too with the boat...I think both commercials are cool.

I kinda figured the low front end was because of head on collisions with smaller vehicles to keep the trucks from running up on the cars.

I had my daystar installed so I can not say first hand how hard the install is, but it requires compressing the coil on the front for removal.

I thought it was to allow the truck to haul a load in the bed without sagging but I think your explanation is more likely

Call me crazy, but I think I'm the only one here that actually prefers the "raked" look over the "leveled" look.

I've thought it may also have something to do with a lower center of gravity. The more it's lifted, the more likely it is to roll over.

For some reason the "new" commercials showing "old" trucks perturbs me. I've only seen one or two 06's in the new commercials. Most of the commercials were shot with 04-05 models with rectangle driving lights in the bumpers. Guess it saves cost, use old ads and then add in new graphics and voice overs. Reminds me of the cloth seats...cheap. A few of the other ads also look like they leveled the trucks for the ads. In the end who really cares, I like my truck and the ads have nothing to do with it.

They are definitely lower in the front due to the advantage trucks and higher vehicles have in head on collisions. There are many lobbying groups and the NHTSA trying to get the automakers to lower trucks and SUV's to make the cars around them safer.

Precisely. Simple machines from middle school science class!

actually the new 06' commercials do show an actual 06' because it shows the front end and has the round fog lights...at least on the semi truck tow commercial...not sure about the boat one...

you were right the first time. if you load up your truck to the maximum safe load
it will ride level

Duke is right. Just saw the commercial on FoxNews. It appears to have a huge weight in the bed, thus giving the levelled appearence.
My guess is to make this thing seem real, they loaded the rear to ensure that the back end would stay on the ground to get enough traction to lift the semi throught the fancy pully system. Cool truck, bad commercial.

About 20 years ago, I lifted a van off the ground with one finger at Universal Studios in Califormia. My mom got a cool pic of it.

Ok fellas.

There was two commericals. Both talked about the 06 F150.

1. 06 Towing Semi into the air (with a pulley, which would allow even a smaller vehicle to do).
a. "Truck appeared beefier in front" - optical illusion because of how dark the commercial is and the fact the truck is black
b. "Truck appeared level" - it was. It had a huge weight in the bed which compressed the rear suspension making the truck level. Trucks come standard with a lower front end in order to create rake. Rake is to allow you to put more weight in the rear without creating a sagging rear end effect which causes pour driveability and shoots headlights way up in the air.

2. This was a commercial with a F150 driving around while the annoucer talked about the 06 F150. The only thing was the truck driving around was a 05 F150 because it had rectangular fog lights.

Yeah I watched a lot of TV yesterday. Both games were crazy boring because they were both blow outs. So I paid attention to commercials instead.

That "huge weight in the bed" is the spool that all the wire cable was wound on before they ran it through the multiple pulley's to gain the correct ratio to lift the Peterbilt semi.
