I am very happy with mine. I had it installed when I bought my truck. Same FOB for the remote locks, remote start and alarm. The alarm sounds by honking the horn, but it does it at various tones, lengths and noise, so it really catches your attention. We live in Las Vegas and Alaska, so we either have the AC or the heat cranked on and it is nice to get the vehicle heated or cooled before we get in. I wouldn't have a truck without it again.

Well, I wasn't too far off when I said I was entering the "Remote Start Nightmare." I dropped my truck of this morning at 6:40am. Since it's a one day project the dealer took me home -vs- giving me a rental. Knowing how simple this should have been I started getting a little nervous around 3:30pm. I called the dealer and had them come get me...

I walk in and have the guy paged. He said they were programming everything and it shouldn't be much longer -- current time is 4pm. I walk back to the shop area just to see if I can see my truck. Sure thing, it's in the first stall. I could see the brake lights come on & off, I could hear the horn give a little toot occasionally, but never saw smoke come out my tailpipes.

The Accessories Manager comes over and tells me that the first problem they ran into was the color coding on two wires in the main harness are not right. (And I know he's done hundreds of these.) They finally found the right wires and hooked it all up. We're not looking at 5pm...

Next problem is no one told me to take both of my keys with me. Even this morning when I dropped it off it wasn't brought up. I guess if you have both keys you can reprogram everything a lot easier. Instead they broke out this laptop looking thing. Once it's hooked up it delays the programming by 10 minutes. Something kept going wrong and eventually the truck went to a 20 minute delay. We're now looking at 6:30pm.

I told them to call it off, and I'd bring the truck back at a later date. They didn't charge me anything since the system doesn't work yet. The only thing that's holding everything up is programming the PATS bypass module. He asked me to drop the truck off at 7am either tomorrow or the next day. This time I'd have a rental waiting on me... and a bigger discount than I was already getting in the first place.

Like I originally wanted, everything is on one key fob. They looked like they had a blue & red button. They also put some sort of LED directly to the left of the headlight switch. Is that part of the 45 sec timer or something? Anyways, that's where we stand now. Oh, and he also said he'd make me one hell of a deal on the Roush blower God I hope my house sells quick!!!

You won't regret the purchase, I love mine on my BLACK 05 Lariat. Here in Texas it is a great thing to have. I can turn mine on from my desk at work to the parking garage which is about 200 feet line of sight, and through the building. Outside it must reach 500 feet. Mine is the unit that ford uses and it has a little antannae behind the rear view mirror on the windshield, I am amazed how far it can reach.

I got mine back yesterday... to say the least it's a neat little mod! The two things that are visable after the install are: the LED next to the light switch & the antenna thing behing the rear view mirror.

The only thing I don't like about this system is I have a second key fob. When I dropped the truck off I asked, "Everything will be on one key fob, right?" My answer was yes. When I was given the second one he thought I meant that everything for Remote Start would be on one key fob. Oh well... I don't carry that many keys anyways.

I'm a couple of weeks I'm dropping the truck off to have the power rear slider installed, and in May I'll be having the supercharger installed. I wanted a rear slider, but I bought an '05 closeout. The blower will be my birthday present to myself... after I sell my house and have some extra cash He's doing an install on a truck just like mine now. He told me to come back Friday to check out the final product.

Anyways, I'd suggest this mod to anyone! Heck, my trucks warming up right now for me!
