What Prerunner Bar?

I am considering adding either a prerunner bar or bull bar to my truck. Right now I am leaning towards the prerunner bar. What do you think of this one? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

I think this one looks a lot better quality than most others I have seen. I would also be considering powdercoating it black.

This is the same one without lights.

Personally, I don't think they look as good just tacked on top of the bumper. I mean other than holding a couple lights, what purpose does that serve? Sure it looks ok if you just want a little bling and no go. But if you are set on that, then look into N-fab and some of the smaller companies like Camburg out in Cali where the pre-runner look is oh so popular at the moment. My plan is to remove the lower part of the two piece bumper, where the fog lights are, and have one custom built to match the lines of the truck with a skid plate attaching to the suspension subframe on the bottom, the same place where the Rancho/Pro-comp skid plates attach. This will add a ton of clearance in the front while offroading, look better, and will be a ton stronger as well. I have torn my stock bumpers up, front and rear, so my motivation to have the custom pre-runner style built is logical.

I'm not a fan of the prerunner bars, but I did like the one that they had on xtreme4x4 last week when they built an F150 prerunner.
Sorry the pic is small, but its the only one I could find

I think they look good and I will more than likely put one on mine, but only if I got some lights to mount on it.

Not a pre-runner or a bull bar. I like mine a lot. Not everyone and their brother has this one either.

P.S. It may not be the case, but that pre-runner bar just looks flimsy to me.

I love that bar. Actually I sent an email to a company that custom makes them describing what you have. Where did you get that and how much, if you dont mind me asking.

Don't mind at all. It's made by Smittybilt. It's called "Predator" and I believe it was $425 through a local off road shop. There are more pics in my gallery also. Check out www.gosmitty.com

I just noticed you have the one on the back too. I am guessing you dont have the reverse sensing system do you? I like the look of the back one too but I dont think I can use it with the rss. That thing would beep constantly, and I really like having it.

I don't have the sensors and I think they said they would be a problem.
Forgot to add... the only issue I had with the bars was that the front sat too high IMO, so I just added some 3/4" spacers out of scrap aluminum. You'll notice the difference in my pics. I still think it's the best looking bar out there and is one of my fav mods

I have been checking them out for a while but they all look pretty cheap. That one looks nice though. Is it pretty heavy duty?

I do notice the difference now that you mention it. It looks a ton better after lowering it.

For what it is, I would say it's pretty heavy duty. I mean I would feel confident pushing a car with it. Thanks for the compliment BTW. I couldn't understand why Smittybilt didn't see that(thought maybe it was just me)
