Rusting Eagle 178's
Rusting Eagle 178's
Does anybody else with Eagle 178's have problems with the little screws around the outside of the rim rusting. Two of my rims have this problem. They have not been on salty roads. I spoke with the guy that I purchased them from and he said that they can't be removed. They are held in with JB weld. Has anybody else had this problem?
I have the same problem. Just noticed a couple of weeks ago. Mine aren't rusted yet but they are turning all black. And it's only on the rear rims. The front are barely noticible but they are going to be the same within a matter of months. I have had them for about a year. I spoke with the buisness i got them from and they should be warranty as long as i have had them less than a year. Thing is i'll have no wheels for a couple of weeks while they are out. Probably more than a couple of weeks because i am in Canada and they have to go to the states. Maybe i should e-mail eagle and see if thy can send me some new ones and then i will send the old ones in.
Just talked to a rep in Vancouver. He is sending me some new rims as we speak. Didn't even want my bill of sale or pics of the rims or anything.
Just have to pick them up at not so local tire store. But i'm not gonna complain.
I also have the number for the Houston office if anyone needs it.
Edit: Just got another call. Things aren't so good. Aparently the rivets just screw out. They are not jb welded in. They just screw out with a torx. The rep also did not know this. He is going to send me all new rivets for my wheels. Still though atleast they are getting fixed.

Tell ya what. Call 713-460-3030. Ask him to send you some new rivets for your rims. They do just screw out. They do not have any jb weld on them. Just when you put the new ones in make sure you put bit of locktite on them. Just the medium stuff though. I think the originals might have some on them too. I haven't tried to take one out yet but the vancouver rep told me they just screw right out.
