Armrest upgrade - tell me what you think of the color contrast

I am going to change the center seat in my 05 XL. I currently have a vinyl covered center seat with the solid armrest as shown here:

[IMG][/IMG]

I have purchased a used cloth covered center seat with an armrest that has the cup holders and storage compartment like what is pictured here:

I would like to remove the vinyl cover from the original solid armrest shown in the first picture and modify it for use on the replacement armrest with the cupholders and storage shown in the second picture.

Anyone messed with these armrests that can tell me if this is a feasible and/or difficult mod or not?

Try asking an upholstery shop what they'd charge. I wouldn't think it'd cost that much.

Do you just not want the cloth on the new console? If that's the case I would say do the upholstery shop thing. What I would like to do with mine is see if the top of a flowthrough or XLT console will fit in place of the cloth lid. It would add a little height and some comfort. I got a feeling it won't work, anyone tried?

I got the center seat I ordered and just put it in the truck this afternoon. When I ordered it, the seller said it had stains in it that may not come out. I worked on the stains and got them all out. The center seat is now installed. If I decide I like teh colors, I won't have to worry about re-covering it.

It has the dark flint grey upholstery on it. Tell me what you think of the color in contrast with the light fling grey seat covers I installed the other day.

Contrast looks fine to me. The interior is a mix of grays and blacks anyways. You'll be the only one that know's it's not original.

Cup Holder Vinyl Replace?

Can anyone tell me how to R and R the cup holder vinyl?? Seems like an easy thing to glue back in place, but I don't see a way to get it apart! Thanks!

I would start a new thread about this since this one is 8 years old. I don't know if they will reply anytime soon but the current users might have some input.
