So does every truck with the rail system already have the wire up under the headliner? Many of these are going to take power, anad it would b a pain to run wires up there.

palmettokrawler,

I asked the same question and the response I got is below.

"David,

Thank you for contacting Brandmotion. Our Blueconnect Hands-Free phone system is designed for 2005 and beyond Ford F-150's with the optional Overhead Rail System, and will be shipped to dealers starting in April. If you have the Overhead Rail system in your F-150, then you are halfway there. If you have a 2005 or later model, then the wire harness is located underneath the first factory installed storage bin. Remove it and you'll see the opening in the headliner that you can fish the harness out of (its held just in front of the opening with a small dab of glue).

if you have a model earlier than 2005, you can still use the Blueconnect module. You'll just need to have it connected (spliced)
to a nearby power source, such as the front map light console. If
you don't have an overhead rail system, then we will be offering a version for F-150's without rail in July.

Hope this helps, and again we appreciate your interest.

Jeff Varick made one incorrect statement.
the harness for 05+ is held in place by a connector cap which is glued to the headliner. if you pinch the harness tab and pull to the left, you can remove it from the cap.

for 04 models, it will be easy to splice into the map lamp wires, the map lamp (front console) just pulls strait down, it is held with 4 spring clips.
