Quick question..........I looked in the manual and could not find anything about the proper procedure for disconnecting and reconnecting the unit....for example when you want to disconnect it for hooking it up to a computer. Do you also disconnect the cable from the port? And when you reconnect it do you do the same thing as the installation, plug into the port with the key on? Since you have to put it back to the stock program before you do this, won't it think it is a new installation and therefore lose any saved custom adjustments. I wouldn't think so, but I thought I would check with some of you that have already done this.

With the key off, I unplug from the back of the Edge unit.

Take it in the house and get the info I need, then take it back to the truck with the key off, and reconnect it.

Never had a problem doing this, and have not lost any settings.

The Edge does not have to be connected in order for the tunes to function. You can load your favorite tune, then unplug it and put it in the desk drawer.

The only time it needs to be returned to stock is if you want to update the Edge unit from the Edge website.

 

Thanks......I gave it try, since I wanted to check for updates, I returned it to stock. Turns out I have everything up to date. When I plugged it back in the truck evrything seemed to work until I went to the custum program and tried to reload previous settings. I got an error.........well no biggie...........I turned the key off....unplugged the cable from the port and plugged it back in with the key on and everything works again.....and it still had the previous settings. I guess all is good.

Another question: Has anybody been able to register their unit at the Edge website? It seems they have not updated the online registration form to reflect the 04-06 F150 and the Edge Evolution with Attitude monitor as a choice. I went ahead and filled out a form anyway and explained the situation in the text box provided. I wanted to register it so I could hopefully be notified by email of any updates available without having to check for them.
