Squeaking Steering

Hey everyone. I went offroading a few days ago and now whenever my wheels are turned all the way to the left and I begin to turn the wheel to the right, my steering sqeels like there is no tomorrow. I had my gf turn the wheel for me while I had my hand on the steering linkage (the rod the is connected to the wheel) and I could feel it vibrate. Do you think it is just some dirt that needs to be pressure washed out or something more serious? I am just asking in hopes that someone chimes in and say's "that happens all the time to me when I go offroading and all you need to do is wash it out." Also, if that is it, can I lube it somehow after I pressure wash it out, and what type of lube could I use???
