Piaa bulbs for our trucks 9008

I emailed piaa about their bulbs since it looks like silverstars may be a long way off and sounds like they may be more promising than slyvania
here it what they had to say

Hello,

The bulb 9008 / H13 is in production in Japan. Because this is a new bulb for the automotive industry the lead time to hit our shores is still 2-4 months. It will be an Xtreme White plus version with a factory wattage draw and a rated output of about 110 to 115watts in a H.I.D style Blue/White colored light. Once it is available you should see information on the “What’s New “ page on the website at www.piaa.com.

Thank you

Marco Medina

Too bad the PIAA bulbs I previously bought for 85 bucks a pair only lasted one year...However, the Silverstars I replaced them with only lasted a year too. Then I bought APC's illegal bulbs for twenty bucks, and they lasted over a year so far.

Yeah dont be surprised if you pay $80 for PIAA bulbs and they dont even last a year. PIAA over a decade ago made quality products, but since then now produced junk bulbs to compete with all the other cheap aftermarket bulbs on the market.
Id save your money and go with a cheaper bulb manufacturer since PIAA isnt going to be any better.

Are those $5 bulb sets on Ebay worth the 5 bucks you pay for them (+$10 on shipping and handling). Are there any HID bulbs that are brighter and whiter than our current ones that will last at least a year available?

I bought a pair of Ebay bulbs. These to be exact:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT
Don't get them they suck! If there is any light on the street while driving, you cant tell your lights are on. I was going to return them, but after paying shipping and 25% restocking fee, to me it's not worth it. No biggie, they didn't cost that much.

I might try a pair of Luks bulbs.
