First off I would just like to say that this site is awesome and the info you all provide is priceless. I have not had a chance to read all the threads but I am going to post anyway. I have an 04 FX4 SCREW and have noticed the hood vibrating up and down and causing a rattle. I am wondering if there is something wrong with the hood itself or if the bug shield is causing the issue by changing the aero on the hood. Anyone else having this problem.

 

more then likely its the bug shield.

 

Could be a few things. First, I think just about everyones hood shakes alot until you adjust the rubber stops underneath it. I think theres a TSB for it. If you use the search feature which is at the top of the page in the black line, just type in the issue or keywords you are looking for..im sure you'll find the answers. As for the rattle, I'm not sure where you hear yours, but mine started to rattle a week or so ago and we found out that the wiper cowl on the passanger side popped out of one of the holding clips and it was rattling against the windshield, but it actually sounded like it was coming from behind the dash somewhere. Just a few things to check.

What kind of bugshield is it? I think Ford's TSB is regarding the LUND bugshields, saying that they cause vibration and shaking in the hood.
