Problems with ticking noise & dealer 2004 F150
see http://www.markwilson.com/mustang_ts...-08ticking.pdf for description of my problem.
I change my own oil, I'm not an idiot. My car runs in the 11s, I baby the truck.
Well the dealership was like "it could be a rod, we won't know until we take the engine apart." (Like hell I'll let them take the engine out)
If it was a bad rod, it'd be making the noise all the time, not just after warming up.
So the dealership said they wanted receipts from all the oil and filters, etc. It's only been done 2 times by someone other than me. (33,000 miles)
I'm going to try the dealership I bought it from, not the one I took it to today (it was closer to my work).
Anyone with the same issue?

Whatever you do tell them FL820S filter and motorcraft 5W20 oil is the only thing you have used. Regardless its under warranty, but if they suspect anything other than motorcraft oil and filters you may be in for a long ride. Also if the service advisor wrote a ticket on the truck it will transmit to all dealers, and the next dealer that punches your vin# in will ba able to see the notes put into the system by the first service advisor. Hope they figure it out, and its no big deal.
