Got my Magnaflow installed today

I went the cheap route and just had the stock muffler replaced with a 18" Magnaflow. It's not as loud as I thought it would be, but it is just what I wanted. No noise at idle or at cruising speed and just the right amount of growl when I step on it. I was going to take some pictures, but I figured everyone knows what a muffler looks like.

What part number is it? Price? I am debating between this and a 40 series OR 50 series SUV Flowmaster. I would like it to be somewhat loud, but don't want too much noise in the cab

I am debating between this muffler and the MAC muffler, which you can get in stainless as well. Do our trucks need the 2.25" or the 2.5"? Thanks.

I do not know the part number or the size pipe because I forgot to ask. It may be on my recipt which I'll check later because I left it in the truck.
It cost $130 installed, which I thought was a damn good price considering another shop down the road quoted me $159 for the same thing!

Yeah I'm pretty sure I have the 18" too. At first, my first thought at idle was...hmmm, a little too quiet. Then driving it, I found it "just right" for me. Just enough sound to hear when you want, but quiet enough to not hear it most of the time. Then I installed headers, now I hear/feel it more, but not much...I actually like it, a lot! Not exactly the sound I wanted at idle, but it's more than acceptable overall in my book. I've had loud exhausts before, and while I think a truck should be noticed, I think it should be noticed for a clean healthy sounding exhaust, not because it's obnoxious and redneckish. I left the ultra loud and perfectly obnoxious sound with my offroad MAC ProChambered / short MagnaFlow side exhaust Roush Mustang I sold

I got the Magnaflow 14250 which is the 24" version of yours stainless, and it is quiet almost stock like but the main thing for me was the flow. I have already gained .3 MPG with the gas, so I am excited.

The muffler was 106.95 shipped and the shop charged 30 for the tip and 30 for the install. 166.95 for a catback that is stainless is not bad if you ask me! Sounds good to me, I didn't want much louder then stock just a better rumble which is what I got with much better flow.

Very good choice..I installed a stainless steel one just like it on my truck when it had 3000 miles on it, it now has 30,500 miles. You are right in that at idle and low rpm's it is very quiet, but at WOT it has a little rumble...

Overall I'm very pleased with it. I might see about getting a tip welded on in the near future.

I was thinking of getting the 18" in sping but I pull a trailer with ATV's and I don't want to much cabin noise when going on vacation.

Any of you pull with the 18" muffler, if so do you have alot of cabin noise that it would get to you after 1000 miles or so. I know I had a MagnaFlow on my Explorer and after a while I got tired of the noise and drone while on the highway.

I heard NO drone what so ever on the highway. I doubt that pulling some ATV's would cause that much noise. This muffler is almost as quiet as stock. You could always go with a larger muffler if you're concerned about noise.

I don't know if your MPG increase is so much because of increased flow than it is the weight savings.
This muffler looks so lonely under the truck. It's a little less than half the lenght of the stock one. It must save at least 30lbs.

A few weeks ago I got an 18" Magnaflow muffler welded on. The noise at highway speeds was a little to much for me... In fact, the very next day I went back and had a 24" model put on. Much better! With the 18" muffler, there was what I consider to be "drone". Sure it sounded awesome when you stomped on it, but... I do alot of highway driving, and that constant deep-toned drone would have drove me nuts if I had kept it... Don't believe me? Look in the F150 classifieds and you will find my 18"! The idiot muffler shop refused to 'exchange' it, so I had to go somewhere else and buy a whole new one.

I just had the Magnaflow catback SIDO installed on my 06, part 16614 - 18" muffler. Much louder than the Borla catbacks I had on the 05. Getting used to it though, still like the deeper more quite rumble Borla system better, ( less as time goes by though ) but sounds more like a truck than a crown vic now....

I haven't spent a long period of time on the highway since I just got mine today, but while cruising around the roads here about 50-60mph I couldn't really hear any drone in the cab.
