let me get this right?????

I can't just yank off the big tube that attaches under the filter
on the stock airbox for the nicer louder intake sound?

I did a search and can't get no satisfaction.

No. You do so at your peril. Not a few late model trucks have been found to run lean on the factory tune - modding the intake tract exacerbates the problem.

Try searching in the Chips forum ( yeah, I know ... ). It's been discussed many times.
