Yes, the Edge allows you to correct your speedometer for both gears and tires.

Funny you should mention that! I was going to wait a couple of weeks and hopefully the techs at EDGE would be able to get caught up on all the e-mails since this new unit came out. I reprogramed my tire size to what the instruction manual states and now my speedo is accurate with my gps, but off about 2 miles per hour on the EDGE display. The Odometer is pretty close according to the mile markers on the interstate. The only situation it matters is the 0-60 and 1/4 mile runs using the EDGE. Wouldn't be as accurate. So I'll wait and check in with them in a couple of weeks.

In the Edge manual, it states that the Edge MPH reading and the speedo MPH reading can differ by as much as 3 MPH due to spring tolerances within the gauge cluster (see page 5 in the manual).

BTW, my MPH reading on my Edge unit is also off by ~2 MPH, and my speedo is nearly perfect (within 0.5 MPH, checked with GPS).

EXP, how much was the intake hose? And where did you get it? Did it help much?

Thanks

Same here, about a 2 mph difference.

Got it at Summit. Airaid Jr. About $130.00. Came with the air cleaner also. I already had the K&N, so I just swap out while cleaning. Not much noise, huge opening and easy install. Hard to say if it helped much. I never count on a fuel mileage increase from a mod, and my "seat of the pants dyno" is not accurate enough for some folks, but for me it's good. The EDGE Engineer stated in another post that just removing the snorkle was good for 5 hp on the dyno. This has got to be at least that and then some.

Thanks for the input on the speedo. I read the manual about being a couple of miles off. Just hoping for some adjustment that would allow for "adjusting" the Edge.

Thanks again for the input.

Mine does that too... I'm not too worried about it.

I got my Edge last Friday and I'm out today with my first work trip with the Edge. Today was 418 miles out southern Connecticut to western PA and hopefully I will run back home tomorrow or Wednesday.

My Garmin GPS and the Edge MPH were within .5 miles of one another the entire trip . The reason for the .5 difference was my Garmin gives the speed in tenths and the Edge displays in whole miles per hour. With cruise on I could see the Edge round off to the .5 mile.

Another interesting fact was my mini msg center trip odo for 418 miles differed only by .6 miles from the Garmin GPS... I thought that was unreal.

Now the speedo is off by as much as 3.+ but if I hit a constant speed it would drift more towards accurate. Don't know what to make of that. I learned that I could not count on the speedo. It never read low but from 40 to 70 it was either almost accurate.. (1 MPH high) to bad (almost 4 mph high).

Can't beat a digital speedo!

Jack

The edge like most tuners recalculates the speedo by entering the tire size in millimeters.

34.8' tire would be 2776mm
35.2' tire would be 2800mm

The best thing to do is install the tires then go to an empty parking lot. Put a chalk mark on the bottom of the tire and make a matching mark on the pavement. Roll the tire forward one complete rotation and make another mark on the pavement (I would make another complete rotation of the tire and make a second mark just for accuracy). Then messaure inbetween the two lines and calculate using the formula below.

Example if the tire measured an exact 35.0 inches.

35.0 X 3.1416 X 25.4 = 2793

That's how I did mine. I have a 97 inch roll.

P.S. Nicky, how about getting rid of the signiture statement. Up to you, but seems your trying to stir the pot so to speak. It's between those two. None of our business.
