Well i was driving down my local road and all of a sudden a regular cab f150 pulls into the next lane next to me, he has a single exit exhaust but it was LOUD ! we start revving our engines and toying with each other and then we both floor it, i was ahead the whole time but he stayed pretty close ! we then reach the next stop light and we both launch, i beat him but he stayed pretty close to me, i signalled then to a gas station and we started talking. Thats when he told me he had a 4.6 ! i could not believe it ! the mods he had were, 4.10 gears, full exhaust no cats with a 40 series muffler, superchips programmer and an intake. His truck hauled a$$, my truck runs a 15.5 and he must be running a 15.8/15.9, just wanted to shed new light on the 4.6 f150's i myself never thought they could be that quick but obviously they can !

 

A modified Ford Pinto can be pretty quick too. Stock, they suck.

 

i have 4.56 gears, e-fans, superchips, intake, straight pipes, throttle body spacer and ram air hood.

 

all of that and he is still running high 15's?

Ouch

 

It surely takes some work. My 4.6 SCREW was pretty bad when i purchased it and even though it will not set any speed records anytime soon, with the help of a superchip programmer and volant intake it is a lot better. I think the throttle response and the shift points were the areas that it lacked most stock.
