Rancho 4" + 1-1/2" Autospring
Rancho 4" + 1-1/2" Autospring
Whew. I finally got it put on last night and I'll be leaving my house to get an alignment done in a few minutes. Im not going to bash 4WP because they did a great job on the installation of my lift except one thing. . . I started on the passenger side of the vehicle, everything was going great until I needed to remove the bottom shock bolt. I started removing it and it was slowing way down. Keep in mind, I was using an impact. I stoped and looked at it, I could see damn metal flakes every where. I finally got the bolt out and some how they damaged some threads pretty damn bad. I spent almost 2 hours trying to clean these threads up with the use of a saw and graphite. Finally it barely went in, thank god. After that was done, everything went together very smoothly, hell I was able to do the other side in 20 minutes. All in all, Im very happy with the outcome and Im glad I didn't use the 2" Autospring, I think it would of been too much on the axles and this leveled out the truck perfectly.
Hey Thumper, I just ordered the 2" Autospring for my 06 FX4 scab - about 1/2 hour ago... I thought the 2 1/2 " would be too high. You thing the 2" will make the rear look lower? The rest of my suspension is totally stock. Your truck already looked up in the front on your before pictures.
Also, looking at the BFG Mud Terrain tires, but I like your tires, how is that tread pattern as far as noise and road vibe? I got the factory Goodyear AT/S LT285x65x18's on now and they feel pretty smooth even at the stock factory top end ( 104 mph.. )

The pictures really don't do it any justice, it looks a million times better. I was tired of looking like I was ready to pick up a pallet of tile and hit up the job site.
Heres the alignment sheet too if anyone was wondering what changes with a leveling kit. . .
kdds05screw:
I had the 2.5" Daystar before my lift and I was perfectly level'd. There is no set answer for this stuff, almost every truck is going to be different in front end ride height from the factory. Theres no way your going to fit 35" Mud Grapplers without a lift. Yes, they are noisy but I like it and road vibe is no worse than any other tire. Im going to add some steering stabilizers though.

Does it ride better? Or anything new that you can tell?
