Changing Steering wheel & Column Cover

I posted this in the Interior board and got nothing, so I'll try here.

I bought a black leather-wrapped wheel to replace the gray plastic on in my '05 XLT, and in the process I'd like to change the entire column cover to black as well.

Has anyone done this? Where did you get the cover (I'd guess from Ford)? How much? How hard to do once the wheel is off?

<----- I love that guy!!

Thanks,
CJ

I would just paint the cover using interior automotive paint

With the wheel off changing the rest of the shroud is not hard. I havn't done it, but have seen people post on it.
I see black ones on e-bay every couple of weeks. Both the kind for column and floor shift.

Once you have the wheel off, the column surround comes off in a couple seconds (there is a small screw on the bottom piece you need to remove, and the rest of it just snaps together).

I got mine on Ebay, but I know that when I looked at one of the online vendors, the part was in the neighborhood of $20.
