Got my new 1745 Superchips Tuner installed!!

This 1745 really woke the truck up! It is worth it alone for the improved shifting. It initially feels pretty harsh on WOT shifts, but I figure I will drive it for a while and see if it smooths out. I have read that the first few shifts, especially if it's cold out, can be pretty harsh.

Does anyone else with the 1745 run the superchips settings or do you run custom? If so, could you please post what your shift pressure's are set at?
And how does it feel with those settings?

Carl

I changed my shift pressures to:
1-2 stock+18psi
2-3 stock+16psi
3-4 stock+16psi

and it still shifts nice and firm, but without that jolt/clunk that it gets when it's on the superchips default. The only way I could get that cluck back was on stock+20psi, which is the max, so I guess that is the default setting. It's ok if you only run the drag strip, but as a daily driver, it's a little harsh. The above settings are nice and smooth, but still firm with no slip like stock.

I usually had my Superchips set on 12.
The shift tends to stiffen or tighten up after the learning period so a 12 after 200 miles is pretty strong, but doesn't feel like it's beating the u-joints to death.

I think everyone has one, I have a predator and an edge on order. Just wanna say congrats on the new toy. The shift pressure values are different on each tuner though, so I don't think the number on my predator would do ya any good.

FYI, the predator doesnt allow you to *go back* on shift firmness on their tunes. FoMoCo did a study with desiel owners and it showed 35% had some kind of pcm tuning device.

I'm not sure what you mean?
My Predator had NO shift enhancment out of the box. I run it at the 120% setting. After 400 miles it is just a fraction too firm. Next time I tune I'm dropping it to 100% There is a spread from 0-200% on the options.
At the stock settings the shift is mushy on predator tunes.

I tweaked my settings again, and set the shift pressure on 1-2 and 2-3 at stock+14psi and 3-4 at stock+12psi, then I changed the Shift points on 1-2 to stock+5mph and on 2-3 and 3-4 to stock+10mph. It performs great now. the shifts are firm but don't clunk and it actually downshifts when you give it some throttle now instead of having to mash it to the floor and holding it and even hoping that it would downshift before.
