Haha, your law doesnt require one so you put it on. Here in Cali, myself included; law requires a plate but a majority take them off.

yea you need a rivet gun to attach rivets. it will take 30 seconds and they prob wont charge you for it if you have all of the parts

yup, you'll need a rivet gun, I bought my truck in DE, and I live in MD, I think the front plate mounting bracket was installed, if not they installed it when I bought it, and they didn't charge me for it. Which dealer in DE?

THINK, before you punch holes in that bumper cover. They are unsightly if unfilled, after you remove the bracket. I know of several in states that require front plates that do not want them on and have come up with some very creative ways to display front plate without punching holes for the front liscense bracket. Zip strips come in a great many colors now. I have seen folks fabricate brackets that attach from below the buper and extend either up or down to hold the plate, kind of an L bracket, there by preventing th hole being punched in the front of the bumper cover.

Haha. Does everyone else see the rivet gun add on the bottom of the page? Good old Google! If you don't want to go to the dealer, just buy the gun below.

I thought the front plate bracket was stanard until I bought my new truck a couple months ago I know they were on my 2000 when I bought it but the new truck didn't come with one but I live in TN where we only have one plate and it looks so much cleaner with out it.

I bought my truck at Sheridan Ford Wilmington Del ... and when i spoke to the person at the dealership today ...they came across like it was a special gun that only they would have ... they never said that i could do it myself ...never said for me to go get a rivet gun and do it myself ...they said to bring it in anytime this week so I said what about today since i had the day off because of the holiday ...they said not today too busy but any other day this week .I like that fact you do not have to drill any holes for the bracket it just snaps in place . if i had to drill at all we would not be having this discussion .

I am totaly lost as to what your talking about...my dealer tag on the front was held into the bracket with two screws....no rivets. Can't you use scews instead of the rivets your talking about?

My 04, and my 06 have screws holding the plate on the mount. You can get the screws at AutoZone or WalMart for 1.99, or just use any screws that you have lying around.

Mine has screws holding it on too. Sheridan Ford across from Best Buy? If so I looked there and they wanted an extra $4,000 for almost the exact same truck as the one I got at Winner.

when I bought the factory oem ford front plastic lincense plate bracket ... it came with 4 plastic rivets not screws... and I placed the bracket on the truck no problem ...the only problem I have is... I placed the plate in the bracket and went to secure the plate to the bracket using the plastic rivets but could not get them in the holes in the backet ... so thats when I placed this thread and called the dealership .if someone could tell me how to post pictures I would then show you guys the famous plastic rivets .

all the way up top, click photo galleries, and make one. You can either post image or post a link to the gallery. So you have the everything (bracket is mounted to truck) but the actual license plate installed? If so, those are definetley screws there.
