Talking Driving lights!!

That's right I finally did another mod behind the grill fog lights!!!! Granted its not a stroke of genius (spelling) but another mod nonetheless. BTW if anyone else knows of other cheap mods send them my way. Poor college student needs ideas. Anyways I used Hella 500 comets. or something like that. I know I know pictures pictures if someone can post their email I will email the pictures since I am posting off of my treo. Later I will post of all my difficulties.

I had a treo for about a month and didn't like it at all...now I have a blackberry and hate it even more. But work pays for it so what the hell...free cell phone.

Where behind the grill did you mount your lights? I've been thinking about mounting foglamps between the front license plate and honeycomb inserts, but I'm not sure just yet. My dad suggested in the bumper behind the honeycomb inserts, but I'm not sure about space and whether or not the foglamps will melt the honeycombs. Behind the grill wouldn't be too bad if I can do it without blinding oncoming drivers since I have a tendency to drive with them on all of the time.

On a side note, I couldn't stand having a phone that big. I was pretty good taking care of cell phones when I was in college, but since I started working for a Tower Automotive, I've had a tendency to drop phones off my belt either from the mezzanine onto the plant floor or inside welding fixtures. My destroyed a 3-year old Nokia 7160 after the first year at work in a manual weldnig fixture, and the Nokia 6360 went through 2 faceplate because I kept cracking the display until it would drop calls all of the time. I switched to Cingular a year ago after I got tired of the 6360 dropping calls, and the Motorola V551 is doing good so far except that the casing is cracked. It probably won't last until the end of the contract next year.

Those sports look sweet when all painted up. If I had the FX4 Package, I would paint the grille, handles, mirrors, bed caps, etc. Althouhg most sports look good with a touch of chrome somewhere.

okay finally finished for the day. i wanted the lights mounted last nite so i did everything i could to get them mounted. i had like a t-bar of aluminum and i drilled holes on the ends and i backed the t part of the aluminum to the big bar goning down in the middle of the radiator. that look flimsy so i put two bolts one on top and one on the bottom. STILL flimsy! So i had like a 7 foot screw rod. Then i drilled a hole in the long part of the t and screwed it into the transmission cooler supporting brackets and tightened them up. To be perfectly honest the lights are all to bright but the light of the center really well and my grill blocks some light but overall they look really good. I also put in an ignition kill switch which works exactly the way I wanted it to thanks to Chrisadams for the info. Well that's it! I need more cheap ideas!

parking lights and the fog lights

sorry about the picture quality its from the cell. the treo is okay, i had a i730 which didnt have chit no camera organizer blah blah. The treo has everything camera, screen and internet.i also ran into a problem with the wiring, the wiring provided had a relay i was not a 100% sure how to wire it and also thought that if i would click the highs on it would cut them off i didn't want to lose any lights so that is pretty much it

loudest i have heard bar NONE! I have mine dumped everyone that hears it wants to know what I have. Granted I lost a little off the line according to the butt dyno but top it increased. I don't think it has a bad drone, I like to think of it as a constant low growl. If i turn the radio up you can't hear it. You are gonna lose A LOT of MPG's. Cuz you are gonna want to hear it all the time

It looks nice for driving lights, but I think that's too high up, even on a stock 4x4, for fog lamps to be practical or will cause oncoming drivers to get blinded. Working at night, I have sometimes have serious problems with fog when I get off work around the plant and when crossing the reservoir. It does give me ideas for offroad lights without installing a bullbar or brushguard.

your right they are no good for fog but they work for driving lights. I have had no problem with oncoming traffic so far.
