Anyone had rear axle TSB done?
I just got my truck back from the dealer. They said they are ordering a new drive shaft and should be in next week. TSB 05-26-11. They wouldn't refash the PCM. Said they didn't notice anything. I hear it wakes up the truck and would like to have it done. My build date is 1/10/2005 I guess I'll wait and see. Service rep said it could be related to drive shaft. I'm glad they didn't just grease the slip yoke. Has anybody had their drive shaft replaced and did did solve this problem?
I got a new driveshaft installed last week. My truck has a build date of 10/04. The truck had a vibe at 55 mph and up and so far it seems to have fixed the vibe. The vibe was subtle and I could hear it as well.

Also has anyone had problems with "clunk or bump" since the dealer performed this TSB upgrade?
I can't believe this is still a problem. This started back in 04. I had the same problem with the shudder. Brought it in twice and made the mech take a ride. I showed them the TSB and they greased the yoke and also replaced the drive shaft. After over 16k never had a problem since. The drive shafts had a problem of some kind. Good Luck..
Is there any place to get the details on that TSB so I can read it. My truck does this "clunk" from the rear end too but not very often, just every now and then I feel it when I get out of the throttle then back on it.
I tell you guys, this is the first Ford truck I have owned since '88 and it has been an unpleasant experience so far. It is going in the dealer January 12th to get the ring/pinion, carrier bearing and all the other bearings in the front drive line replaced to hopefully solve a whining noise. Prior to that it was replace the injectors and cam phasers. Now I am hearing this CLUNK from the rear end. AND, I have only had this thing since November.
What's next???
Thanks, had to vent a little.

04 f150 lariat 4x4 super crew i know how you feel this is the second ford i've owned in three years and i don't think i will buy another one. i've had the slip york greased 3 times, the pinion gears and clutch packs replaced, changed the gear oil to 145wt. about 3,000 miles after each time they did something to it, it comes right back. i'm tired of the temporary fixes to get it out of the warranty. i didn't pay $35,ooo.oo for these problems. the last time i went to the dealer for the slipping and clunking they said they didn't feel it, and now after 5 attemps to fix it, they try to tell me that it's normal charistics of the truck. thats bull $, then they want to know why nobody wants to buy one, because you bought it, its yours. they don't even want to stand behind there 3year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.
I would really like to know where to find the actual TSB as well, so i can read it. I took my truck to the dealer last week, dropped thurs. morning for the rearend clunk and a headliner rattle. They did not have it done until late fri. night, and didn't fix a da&n thing. Neither problem was adressed. They blamed the rattle on water bottles and stuff in the center console, when i know that in fact the headliner is loose, because if you put your hand up their while driving down a rough road it doesnt do it, hum funny. I don't know how hard it is for these mechanics to figure this crap out.
As for the rearend clunk, i gave them the tsb 4-26-6 and they said it did not apply to my 05. I told them that was a bunch of bs, it has the same symptoms whether or not it does or not, it clunks. Does the TSB in fact include 05's?? Calling the service manager today to find out what the H*LL is going on. The service advisor sat in their and gave my wife a run around for 15 minutes before i went in their steaming hot, only to find out they hadn't done anything.
Ford is trying to do anything they can to get out of warranty work, because they are loosing their butts on it. This is the exact reason i just got rid of my '03 F250 6.0 POS, because they would not fix it, and fix it right, and then magicly once it was out of warranty they had all the fixes that were supposed to solve all the problems, at my expense, BS. Bought a dodge CTD, may be my last ford

Nobody else has had this problem or knows where I can find the TSB at?? Just trying to get my dealership to fix a known problem, and they are feeding me a line of BS. If i have the actual tsb in my hand it might help. Anyone???
