4x4 rear sway bar installation....
Just a FYI for you guys adding rear sway bars. I put a hellwig sway bar on my truck a year ago and it has been great. That is until I had my rear gears changed and the tech that put the gears in did not tighten the bar back up to correct torque specs when he was done. This allowed the bar to turn on the axle in corners and it sheared my left rear brake line off at the banjo bolt. No accident was caused and they fixed the damaged line, but for sure make sure it is put on tight and check it often!

back on the subject of the sway bar. install was easy. was about an hour and a half, start to finish. i have a 05 KR 4wd. handling is noticeably better. it doesnt dive into the turns. it really seems to hug the road alot more. havent had it on the highway yet, just down one twisty road.
its a mod i would definetly reccomend.

Don't feel bad j080808 those lock nuts threw me for a loop as well. I put the right ones on one side of the axle u bolt and then lock nuts on the other side, they wouldn't go on! Took a bit to figure that out. I was doing it at night with a light and it took 3 hrs. Knowing what to do now could probably do it in about half that. I had eyes full of dirt and caught a ratchet on the cheekbone, luckily it wasn't the torque wrench. The directions are fairly poor at best, they should of mentioned to take the spare out. Tightens up the rear real nice. I'm going to replace the front bushings and end links as soon as I can get them. Hopefully that'll tighten the front up a bit.
no air tools. would have taken longer to get them out than the time saved. glad my boys (8 and 9) were in school or it would have taken a whole lot longer. i left the spare tire in so that i could be sure there was clearance and used an extension to run the bolts for the cross tube down. one thing is for sure is that there will not be a larger spare going under there.
i still think its well worth the money. way big difference on the turns and bumps. my truck hasnt hopped up once since i put this on.
