Talking First MOD!!!

Had my truck for just over a year and finally did my first of many Mods. A B&M Automatic Transmission Deep Pan. Very easy to install and functional.

Looks good and its not the standard first type MOD you see allot of guys do first around here. Way to be different and Im sure your transmission will like you much more for it.

BTW I dig the sig pic with the CH-47. Just flying around in one last month here in Korea and froze my giggle stick off.

It holds more trans fluid which helps keep it cooler and avoids a dry sump on high flow conditions. It helps to extend the service life of trans fluid and is good for offroad/hill climbing. The aluminum pan with fins also helps with cooling.

The only thing I don't like is aluminum will crack if hit hard by a rock and steel will most likely only dent. If you keep it on the road mostly and mild offroad then it's a great mod.

Just a note, if you do extreme offroading you should use a radiator type trans cooler behind the grill.

Some opinions may vary on this but that's my view.

Oh yeah, there is also a drain plug and magnet.

How much inches deep different between stock and B&M tranny deep pan?

I do have the tow package. I don't plan to be doing any off-roading. I ordered it from Summit Racing, Part # BMM-40291. The picture in may signature was when I was in the Army, I was a flight engineer on Ch47's for 14 years. That was picture was taken in San Josa, Costa Rica, ACFT 8800108.

Look at the bigass flange on the B&M pan too...no distortion when tightening there, that's for sure. Does the B&M pan still use the reusable Ford gasket? I like that it has a drain plug too...nice mod. Oh, and how much more fluid does it hold now?
