Guys sorry i left you hangin but I havn't been able to fool around with this any. School/work/weathers not been cooperating. I dont see why this aint working, the only thing you have to do on the Rangers are cut the black wire from the side marker and splice it into one of the turn signal wires. No relays involved, just a snip and a tap connector. If it ever quits raining here and i get a chance I'll pull my headlights out and figure this out for you guys. Does anybody know for sure what what wire colors are for + and - to the turns and markers? That would be a huge help.

I have thought of doing this also. Any update after several years?

WOW... what a blast from the past! That was three trucks ago.

I don't remember this thread and I don't ever remember trying this on my old truck.

try this link...

http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...rkerflash.html

this and a multimeter is what I used to do this on my 04 F150 a year or so ago.

you can also upgrade the side marker bulbs to W5Ws for a little more light (but not much)

I will see if I cant snap some photos of the install.

Fender side marker signal and/or corner blinker

Would be awesome if you could find some pics of your modified corner lens; I do have a multimeter. I'm very afraid of screwing up the wiring on my truck that is less than 4 years old. Very little experience with electrical systems.

People zipping by you start to merge, then give you a 1-blink as they're half-way over and then they're touching your sidewall. I don't drive slow but I do obey the limits (so I'm slow). I'd like to give improved visibility even without the headlight corner marker modified. Never experienced this with my 1990 F350 Crew 4x4 LB. It was huge, lifted, 35 rubbers but its corner lens did blink and brightly.

I have been seriously considering adding a fender marker / signal somewhere near the badge, or even drilling a series of tiny amber LEDs through the badge itself, just left of the XLT text. I have room for maybe four 3/16" diameter bulbs but they wouldn't make much light as they blinked. Not sure how much room is behind the fender for a typical JDM marker without removing the fender itself and I just can't do that right now where I live.

I have seen online some nice results with Mercedes, LandRover, Honda Pilot markers on Nissans or Toyotos but never on a Ford. The aftermarket versions you find in AutoZone or Pepboys are crap. I also looked at trailer parts but they are bare bones and ugly.
