First time new truck buyer questions
first off let me start by saying hey to everyone. my name is ryan, im 23 and live in tallahassee fl. ive been a lurker on here for a while and have gotten a ton of good info off the site so i wanted to say thanks
ive been looking at getting into a 2006 scab or screw FX4 as a daily driver and to tow my other baby. but im very picky and pretty much know exactly what i want and what i dont.
my question is the trucks i see with small options i absolutely dont want (like running boards, plastic bedliners, bed extenders, stuff like that), will dealers remove these items and take them off the price or am i stuck with them??? also with the "simple plan" stuff that is going on, is that pretty much the bottom line the dealerships will go or is there a little more room, also is the simple plan price higher or lower than the x plan price (i qualify for that as well)??? also is there any way i can tell the dealership what i want exactly and they can hunt the truck down for me??
finally does anyone know of any really good dealerships to purchase a truck from in florida or ga, preferably n fl or s ga?? in tallahassee there is only one ford dealership and they are absolutely horrible. they treated really bad when i went in there the look at trucks a couple months ago, and have done the same to some friends so i dont want to give them any business.
thanks in advance

I doubt that dealers will remove options that are already on the truck and subtract them from the price. Dealers have the capability to check other dealers' inventories for specific vehicles, although if you're looking for a very specific truck, you may be better off ordering one.
As far as the simple plan price goes, from what I've seen, these prices are a bit lower than A/D/X plan, so you'd probably be best off rolling with that. Don't expect much negotiating room under those prices though.

well i went to the dealership today by my parents house in miami just to look around and it turns my parents know the sales manager there. basically he told me to order the exact truck i want. in 6 weeks when it comes in its mine if i want it, if not, no big deal
thats kinda cool

I just graduated from FSU and All-American Ford is horrible. Don't ever go there if you need service on your truck. They had mine for days upon days and they still never got it right!

Hey Ryan, if you have any questions, I just bought a FX4 SCREW.ps...It's slush from TMCA
they can remove the options if it's worth it to them - i.e if they are making money. But don't expect them to bend over backwards to sell you a truck at invoice - $500 . It's just not worth it to them..
PLUS there is one little part about it..
If it's on the original sticker, then it can't be removed. If it's on a smaller aftermarket sticker then it's negotiable. At least that's the bull i got

Tally this is what I traded in on my Screw:
I would HIGHLY recommend you try Sunbelt Ford in Sylvester, GA (about an hour and a half from Tallahassee). I have bought 4 from them in the last 5 years and they have always done me right. Ask for Bert and tell him Robbie Lewis sent you to him and I am sure he will help you in anyway he can.

This is what I did when we bought our Expy. I was in the same boat as you. I knew exactly what I wanted. I went to Ford's website and built one exactly like I wanted. You can then link to dealerships everywhere and search their inventory. I searched Atlanta area dealers, because they are the busiest area in our region. When I found one I wanted, I e-mailed them and requested a price quote. Most will call you or e-mail you with a price. Then, I went to my local dealers with Expy's I wanted. Most laughed when I told them what I would pay. But you know what, they stopped laughing when I showed them the emails from the Atlanta dealers. They then tried to tell me that I didn't want to drive to Atlanta. I agreed and told them I wasn't driving, because the Atlanta dealers would overnight all the paperwork to me and deliver the Expy to my house. The dealership in my town then sold me an Expy for the same price as the big dealers.
Also, I had a couple of dealers tell me they could not give me as good a price if they had to get an Expy from another dealer. They said the best price would come from something in their inventory or if they ordered one for me.
