Autospring Leveling kit or not?
Autospring Leveling kit or not?
Well thinking about pulling the trigger on one.
Anyone have a picture of a truck similar to mine with factory rims? I searched a grunch but most have larger tires and different rims. Even if someone had a supercrew, factory wheels, and some nerf bars so i get an idea. Thanks.
What do you all think? Do i need it? Will the ride change at all? How much will it affect when im pulling trailers?

sorry cant help with the pics but can give you a bit of insight on the others...no your ride wont change (just get an alignment post-install) two, it will look better-unless of course you like the rake-- and third, if you're towing that sled, your truck wont even know its there...but if you're pulling 4-6 sleds, you might get bull-dogged a bit with the tail-end going down, and the front being pushed up by the leveling kit... (ive had no problem w/ mine and two sleds behind it...)
Ah, it wont be pulling much for sleds....When it does pull it will pull alot of wieght....3,000# car trailer (dry wieght) with a 5,000 skid loader. Or our cargo trailer, (20ft) Or our 24ft crownline boat. So a good amount of wieght gets put on the back of the truck. I just dont want it to look odd when i tow that the front tires look like they will come off the ground. New tires will come when these are shot. BFG all terrains.

Plus i'm sure if you look around a bit, and ask the right people, you can find a steal on a kit.

This is the 2" Autospring(orig design) I have no rub with the 2"
It also makes a nice difference when the rear wheel wells are painted black.
The ride quality is unaffected. It is one of the best mods I've done and would do it again if I bought a new truck.Go for it, you won't regret it.
Looks will be mucho better, but ride will suffer slightly IMO, but ride after level kit will still be better than most trucks out there. Do it yourself. If you don't like it, take it out--you will only be set back ~$200 after kit and alignment costs and you will learn a lot about your truck in the process.
Thanks for all the pictures and replies. I still cant decide. Might have to get a jack out and jack up the front a bit to see how it will look. I know once i get different tires on it will be fine, meaning the factory wheels wont look so small.

Hell yes this truck looks hideous.
It's not a bad install after renting the extra tools I didn't have from Autozone myself and 2 people got it on in about 4 hours. You can do it in less but they where
every few minutes it seemed.
I am also thinking about adding a leveling kit. The only thing stopping me is that I notice when I'm hooking up my trailer (enclosed) with either two snowmobiles or Harleys, the back drops quite a bit. It's about level with the trailer. Once I install the leveling kit, I'm also afraid that it will look dumb with the front higher. At that point, my only option would be to install rear air bags to bring it back up.
By the looks of it, your level with the trailer on. Pretty sure your front is going to point up with a 2.5" level kit.
The 3" skyjacker might work for ya. It'll raise the front 3" and rear 2". The rear is raised by a add-a-leaf spring. My truck STOCK was 3" higher in the rear than the front. After the lift the rear is 2 inches higher. Ive put a pretty big trailer on it and with the help of the add-a-leaf the rear was about even with the front. Empty, the ride is pretty nice. I didn't notice the rear stiffen up, the front may have. Overall the ride is smoother than the factory FX4 ride. $578 for the lift itself, and its just about as easy to do as a leveling kit. Just another option for ya.
