I havent ever noticed the mud scratcing my truck before but if there are any rocks in the mud that will put a coulple of dings in the paint. We've got a bad *** power washer we use to wash off tractors and it removes mud easily and doesnt chip the paint. I guess just use a hose or take it to the car wash.

I pressure wash it but i always pay special attention to the brake rotors, i had to replace the rear rotors because mud got trapped in the vents and yea.
Mud scratches the paint a little because it is dirt and has little granuals in it but not bad but little rocks in it will do some damage.

after a mudding trip it takes me like 4 hours to clean all the mud off the truck and to get all of the mud off the underside(i just use a hose) a little tip if you know you are going mudding spray some pam cooking spray in all the places that the mud really sticks and adds up, the pam keeps it from sticking, good luck

I use a pressure washer and than if I really feel like getting into it, I use the sprinkler. Both work well, but either way its going to take a long time to clean up.

I pressure wash the whole truck first, get all of the mud off including wheel wells and as much of the underbody that I can. Once all the loose stuff is off, use the soap brush to get the grime off, careful not to let any loose debris get in the brush. Then I wipe the grime off the wheels a rag. Rinse er' off and dry it up.

3 hours or more with the pressure washer and they you still have some left over in the undercarriage. It really is a pain, but when you're out there it is so much fun. You could let some of it dry up and then scrape it from the bottom of the truck with a ice scraper like snow. Definitely don't use a brush when there is mud all over the paint. Not a good idea.

One of my friends used to put a water sprinkler under his truck after he went mudding. It was actually a pretty good idea since most of the undercarriage mud eventually fell off. The only thing is that people might think you're off your rocker...

I never get scratches, you need to get the dirt off before you start washing.

I use a pressure washer first and try to get all the mud off. It takes about 4 hours and it sucks. But if you keep your truck waxed then it will come off much easier, and you wont get scratches.
Try to wash your truck before the mud dries!!! once it gets hard it is a biatch!

If you look in my gallery, you can see the muddy picture i took. That happened driving up and down a muddy gravel road. More like gumbo than mud. Just make sure you get all the mud out on the inside of your wheels (the backside). Well, I didn't and I had a vibration all the way home (about 4 hours)
