Guys, I am planning on making my own audiophile subwoofer wiring harness and I can't figure out one part of the wiring diagram... The diagram is on this thread: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=205463


1) Where the power source comes out of the fuse box, and then enters a blue dot and splits into two wires, what does that mean? Do I just split one wire into two?

2)Also, does anyone know how to tap into a fuse? I know there is some sort of tap...

I pretty much have everything under control...wire gauges, connectors, etc...but connecting to the fuse box really worries me because I'm only a mechanical engineer...not electrical.

The blue dot represents a splice (S328 in that case), where wires go in all sorts of directions for various systems throughout the truck. I'm having trouble accessing the wiring diagram at home, so I couldn't tell you where exactly that splice is and what all it runs to.

As far as tapping into the fuse box, I've seen little dedicated connectors that slip over the blade end of the fuse before it goes into the box to tap into that fuse. Your local parts house should be able to hook you up with something. Or, you could go somewhere along circuit 828 and tap into there with a scotch connector or something like that.

 

Thanks for all the info. I think the splice just goes to two different pins on the female subwoofer connector. I am just assuming that I should use a splitter and just literally make one 16 gauge wire into 2 different 16 gauge wires. Kinda odd that the power would be split like that, but thats how its setup on the connector.
