A couple of new items for your consideration

Time to swap out wiper blades, so based on the advice here I got a pair of 22 inch Silblades. Photos on my truck's web site show the size difference compared with stock.

I built a sling for hoisting my tonneau cover. Pics give a starting point for designing your own if you have an interest in something like this.

Cheers!

I got the silblades a while back and while they still clean really good, no streaking or anything.....I am still not too sure about them. Seems like if the window is not 100% wet, they like stick and SQUEAK across the windshield or bounce. Like in a light mist situation even with intermittent on, if it isn't REALLY wet they will do this, where regular rubber ones will not. Also something I have noticed that bothers the heck out of me. I have the 22" ones also and anytime I get above 55~60 mph it seems the wind affects the driver's side wiper and it will chatter and bounce all the way through the UP stroke. Below that speed, they clean nice and smooth, but as soon as I get a little faster, they do this. They have had this characteristic since they were new. I wonder if a set of blades with an air foil or something similar would help that. Have you or anyone else noticed these symptoms with the 22" Sillblades?

I just stuck them on a couple of days ago, so I have not noticed anything yet. (Not exactly rainy in Phoenix right now.) Comments from others?

i just put the new Bosch ICON wiper blades on mine, it doesnt have multiple arms, rather a long thin curved piece of metal on either side of the blade. Also has a built in air spoiler, which actually looks very clean, something ive been looking for, for a long time, those 95 mph sprints on I-95 tend to kick the blades off the window

^^^^^^^^^^THAT'S THE ONES I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!!!! I knew they were Valeos but I didn't know the website to get them. I just ordered me a set of those in 22". The number was #900-22-1B, I had to select a GMC G-series van to get that number though, if you select the F150 you get #900-20-1B and I like the extra coverage of the 22's. Thanks Tuff4rd!

EDIT: Dave, I need your Email, I have a few ?'s

My factory wiper blades were dryrotted within the first year hear in Phoenix. Do you think these will hold up better? I just bought some replacement blades from Pep Boys since it never rains and I didn't want to spend the money on silblades not knowing how they'll hold up in the dry heat.

My factory set wore out in about a year also. I just bought a new set from Napa, whatever their house brand is.

Left click on my name above, scroll down to "Send email to myst" and click.

(Doesn't hurt to tell me you did it since the source and reply addresses are different it tends to get filed in the junk folder.)

Thayer: I'm hoping they hold up better, else it was a big waste.

I just want to tell you that I think that both your list of mods and the way that you do a write up on how you did them is awesome. I have a few mods on my FX4, but your site has added a couple to my list of wants.

Cheers and have a great holiday.

Dave

His site and writeups are downright amazing! I have used them in quite a few things I have done with my audio/video and other things. Hat's off to Myst!
