Help Me Out Here

What is the max horsepower you can push out of these engines before shooting pistons through your hood?

Right now I'm wanting to add on to my Roush supercharged truck. I spoke with a Roush engineer and the new intercooler is going to be released in about a month and a half. He also informed me that these trucks are maxed out on horsepower right now (which i dont believe). What do you think?

After planning my mods with a local "tuner" these are steps and gains I can expect to get.

First I plan on installing the Roush intercooler which will add around 40hp. Next I plan on upgrading the pulley system and upping the boost to around 10psi. Im going to custom tune it with a Diablo Sport Tuner on a dyno.
About two months ago, I put my truck on a dyno. I couldnt complete my dyno runs because of the governer on my truck. Basically I am at about 300rwhp. After these mods, the tuner I'm dealing with gurantees that I will be pushing well over 400rwhp which would probably be around 550+hp at the crank.

Lets say I gain this much power. What kind of performance can I expect? Im daring to say I will be able to compete with a stock Dodge Ram SRT10 and possibly even beat the Dodge Ram SRT10 Quadcab... Call me crazy, but I think its possible.

I wouldnt be worrying about the pistons, its the rods. Another weak link is the fuel injectors, as those are maxed out right now.

I think that these engines can produce more if that's what you are looking for, but it's the other things that limit the motor. The tranny and rear end are usually the next things to go when generating that much torque. I think that these are the things that limit the amount of HP/torque you can produce. This truck is especially hard on these components because of the weight. Beefing up a motor with a stock drivetrain is asking for trouble. Just my .02.

Detonation will break stuff before (X) number of horsepower will. There's no definite way to put a cap on when your motor will blow up with how much power. Do what you want to do, get it tuned by someone that knows what they're doing and go from there.
