adding power mirrors. Where to put switch?

I'm putting power mirrors on my STX, mostly because I can, and am looking for input on placing the switch, or if anyone knows of a very small power window switch.
I have the stock 04 switch, a couple that are just about identical to it, a couple of sorta square Exploror switches and even a few Cadillac switches. Can not seem to find a good place to put one.
I was going to put one on the top of the door plastic, above the driver mirror, but it is not quite wide or deep enough. I would have to nibble away the bracing behind the pointy top.
I'm hoping I won't be forced to put a switch on the side of the seat, below the power seat switch.

Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks
Chris

Sorry for the confusion. My truck is an STX, no power seats, windows, locks, mirrors, cruise, etc.

Of course I have put in leather, power seats, power windows, power locks, cruise, etc. etc. etc.
Don't have door pods. I do have a passenger FX4 door panel, new in the box, but I would have to drop about 285.00 to use it. Drivers door panel, switch pods, speaker grills.

So I was planning on continuing to use my STX panels, which have no switch pods. Those with XL or STX trucks know what I mean. The doors are pretty basic.

SOund like it would have been cheaper to just buy the truck with all the stuff you wanted.

Sorry, I dont know of what to advise. Maybe see about getting XLT door panels. Try car-part.com they always have good stuff.

And your wrong considering i bought an xlt reg cab for 10k (a/d plan) more than he did. I doubt he has 10k into his truck and it now prob fits his wants better than my xlt would.

Hi, asinatra, right as usual.

For those that don't see why (besides a great hobby) I went with a new 12,995 dollar STX there is the fact that I have added lots of stuff you can not get with the truck at any price.

Examples;
Fold-a-Cover hard Tonneau.
Magnaflow Cat-Back.
Diablo Tuner.
Brute Force Intake.
Back up camera.
Front Parking camera.
In dash Monitor.
Remote tailgate lock.
Remote Toneau lock.
PowerCode Deluxe Alarm/keyless.
Kenwood 622.
Amp, Subwoofer.
Tweeters.
Pioneer speakers.
Kleen Wheels.
Park Alert.
Rear window Visor.
Vent Visors.
Harley Grille.
Chrome handles and tailgate.
ScanGauge.
Express up/down both windows.
Left Dead pedal.

I've also added these things that I could have had included witha more expensive truck;
Leather seats.
Power seats.
Passenger lumbar.
Lariat 18" rims/tires.
Power windows.
Power door locks.
Cruise Control.
Homelink.
Door number pad.
And now power mirrors, um that is if I can place the switch somewhere neat.

I actually have about 2400 bucks in additions to my truck, total, but I have also had a heck of a lot of fun tinkering with it.

I know I left out a things but that's all that I could remember off the top.

Yes, we talked a bit when you were putting in the power windows. I need a place to put the power mirrors switch. Too deep to fit up where you put your window switches.
I do like your window switches, very tidy install. Mine are still on the center panel, flanking the lighter.
These trucks are sure great to work with.

Still hoping I am not the first to do this mod, someone must have found a good place?
I don't want to drill a hole in the thin plastic on the panel under the light switch. It is a good place but rather permanant...

It might not be the most convienient, but how about where the cap is from where you took off the handle from the manual windows. There have been several people wandering what to put in that spot. But then again, if memory serves me right, you put tweeters there, so that might not work either.

Thanks for the suggestion, but as you say I put tweeters there. I would still do it, but there are working parts less than a quarter inch below the surface. I am trying to put it in the top of the door panel. I just plain did not want to cut into the dash below the headlights. All of them are too small to put in place of the coin holder (I have a cell mount there now, anyway). So it's into the top of the door panel. If I screw that up, I guess I will go ahead and spring for the drivers side black FX4 panel to match my spare passenger panel, then put all the switches in the stock location.

But I would much rather just fit it in the STX door panel. Oh well, back to nibbling at the plastic.
