35" Tires - Which Brand? (Searched-No Luck)

I would like to put 35" on my stock 18's. I have the DayStar.

I live in MN. These stock tires SUCK in the snow!!!

I want something that will fair well in the snow 6 months out of the year. Other than snow, I drive 99% pavement. So I need a little harder tire I guess. Road noise does NOT bother me. As a matter of fact I like it when they hum! Anyway...Thoughts?

get the nitto mud grapplers, there great on the snow and not bad on the road [so i've heard] i have also heard they are pretty loud so you will get that humming sound.

I can't offer you any advice on specific brands of tires, but I do know that most mud terrains work well in deep snow. Now just an inch or two I don't know. Just be careful of people giving you random tire advice that they have read from other posts within this forum, find someone with the tires who lives up north.

I'd suggest 35x12.50-18 Toyo Open Country MT's or BFG MT KM's.

What kind of tires for 1225?

I would recommend the toyo open country mt's. I have them and theyare great. Awesome in the deep snow. Not so awesome on ice but better than stock.

That's exactly what they are.

I am having people at a local tire shop tell me thought, that these are NOT good on on shallow snow at all...

I have been told to also go with the BFG a/t.

This is a pain in the ****!!!

35 12.50 on factory 18's

I am haveing one heck of a time finding a shop In Phx. That will mount a 35x12.5x18 on my factory wheels. talk about annoying.
But i have heard very good things about BFGs. I have seen ATs with 60k plus on them. and the toyos are only getting 30k or so. I would do BFGs. Good luck

I have the toyo Mud terrains but you can also look at the COOPER STT.

http://www.coopertires.com/us/en/Pro...ht+Truck+Tires

also the nitto mud grapplers

Everyone has a different opinion about what to get. Definitely the BFG mud terrain has been around for a long time compared to others. I think it's a matter of choice and available funds. Good luck.

What about siping them??. I think they would be very adequate for that. it is rated as a mud and snow tire. designes m+s. I don't see why they would not be good in snow. Maybe they are trying to get you for more cash.???

- What do you mean by "siping"?

Where have you seen M+S? I do like the look of the Toyos much better.

If I were to go with the BFG's what size would be equal or close to the 35" considering they don't make a 35"x12.50r18 in the All-Terrain T/AŽ KO.

According to BFG's web site the only 18" is the 285 65r18.

Siping is a process that cuts the rubber on the traction area of your tire in a directional pattern that allows the tire to have "more grip" on the surface of the road. It is supposed to help increase the "grip" of the tire on wet and icy surfaces. This explains it alot better.

here's on the tire

I could have sworn I saw a M+S rating on it, I may have been smoking some colombian gold on that day or something, If I find it I will post. But, I have not heard any reason why it can't handle snow. Someone on this thread showed their truck and tires covered in snow and stated that they were great. I think it was on the wheel and tires forum. I think they are great and have had alot of positive reviews by many. But like everything, not everyone will like them or agree.

The ToYO M/T are M+S rated. It's on the sidewall. Near the Bead.
