Yes, I just spoke to ford about them. One is like 129 and the other is $49 or so. The HARDWARE is where they rip you off. My parts guy was saying that the bolts and "clips" were about 10 bucks EACH (x10 or whatever). So, a $49 part turns into a $99 part if you buy their clips. He suggested machine screws/hex botls/nuts for 29 cents.

I also saw them in person, and they seem pretty basic. I was going to ask a local shop if they ever had some aftermarket or custom skid plates that are a little more durable... also there isn't really one that covers the gas tank well... even the front.

BTW I have the 3:73 limited slip axle. What's up with the factory fog lights? I happened to pick a truck without them, and it looks like I would have to get a whole new bumper to fit them in... that's BS!

What would you say that a SC setup would run? It's about 6k from Roush, then prob new injectors, pump, help installing, voiding the warranty, etc. I love SC, but that's gotta be a 7.5k project. My entire bonus is only 5k.

Well I am an f'in idiot. I let my truck idle with the fans off, while unloading dirtbikes today after riding, and my truck started making some violent shuddering and shaking, I ran inside an knew it was because it was overheating, I quickly shut it off and plugged the fan in, in 15 minutes it was back down to operating temperature but the battery was not doing so well, kept getting warnings. The temperature was reading absolute MAX, WAYY over the H for hot. I hope nothing was damaged, it shook me up a bit and taught me a thing or two.

I had a 1994 Taurus SHO that I bought used with the thermostat stuck CLOSED. Any acceleration run would put me well over the RED of "overheating", then I could coast in 5th gear (stick) and get it back to the middle, but another run would take it back to the red. I prob drove it like (fairly hard) that for 3 weeks before noticing and changing the stat. I drove the car for another 2 years with zero engine trouble. I blew a rad hose, but that was a $6 fix. I hope you're ok. Those stripes are VERY nice!

well thanks for the compliment, but its an artistic complement, that is just my truck photoshopped, not my actual truck. It was a few ideas I used to have.

Go with a leveling kit and a Troyer Stage II performace kit. That would be $250+ dollars under 2k if you do the installs.

$2000 to spend on the truck?

Nah!

Invest $2000 only in a roth ira mutual fund for 30 years at an average 10% yearly return compounded monthly will yield approximately $40,000 tax free.

Hard to believe, but true.

Why don't you explain this to me, who do I contact to set this up. I am definitely doing this if it has been around for more than 10 years with that kind of return.
