Wiper Cowl Lifts off??

I had my windshield replaced and about a month later the wiper cowl on the drivers side pops up in the middle from time to time. What is the proper way to reinstall it? Has anyone else had this problem or am I alone?

Thanks in advance..

I had this problem too about a month ago. If I remember correctly...

Pop the hood and take a look at the assembly, the drivers side kind of locks to the passenger side and underneath by hooks. It took a couple whacks to get it into proper position and grab. It's kind of foggy to me right now, but that's what I can remember. It's been in place ever since.

Mine popped up so much I had the dealer replace it. It also helped my shaky hood considerably. Just a thought if you're also experiencing a dancing hood on the highway like I was.

Mine does the same thing....pops up every now and then.....give it a smack and it locks back in place. Something for the dealer to fix when I take it in some other time.

Mine does this as well, on the drivers side. It seems to do it after I flex the vehicle. The last time I did it I looked at it carefully and made sure that the 'hook' hooked onto what it hooks to and it hasn't done it since. That was about 3 months ago.

I ran a small screw from one to the other...if you can get over seeing a screw there...doesn't bother me ..much less than the cowl moving around

mine just started doing the same thing on my '04. My dad has an '05 and his is doing it too. Must be a poor design. Mine looks to be tough to keep down too, it keeps popping up there.

Tardman, my hood used to "dance" at high speeds too. It was due to adding my bugshield. There is a simple TSB fix for it. Mine has NEVER done it since. Ask Quintin for the TSB. You'd be suprised at how good it works.

Hell..last winter we had a decent snow storm mixed with ice. I went to work the next morning...stopped at a red light...I'll be dogged if a 4" think piece of snow and ice came sliding down my windshield and busted both my cowls...I'm still pissed!

I had it to the dealer like 4 times complaining about that and they just kept giving me the run around until they replaced mt cowl. I didn't know there was a TSB for it. I'll take it to the dealership where I bought it since I'll be graduating next week. The dealership in Tallahassee is a bunch of idiots anyways!
Anybody know the TSB??

Found the link for ya. I did mine myself, my dealer also did nothing. The fix took about 15min and cost me $5-$10

P.S. It is a lot easier to do w/ the weatherstrip off the truck. It comes off REAL easy, just lift if off.

When they replace the mount cowl , is that a part that is under the cowl ?
I also had my winsheild replaced and have had nothing but trouble ever since. The glass place even order a new drver side cowl and watch them install.
One more thing would be a great help. Would you have a part number for that mount ?

Thank's Springer 1

I don't know anything about the mounts or a part number. All I know is that removing the cowl as not as easy as it looks. When they removed mine they left a loose hose or something in there that flaps around while I'm driving. I'm going in some time this week to have it looked at.
