Reverse Sensor Installation Completed!
Everything went ok but i think one of the sensors is bad. It keeps reading 0 m and beeping. If the sensor is bad, is this what will happen? Pics to follow soon, once i clean up the truck.
Ask and ye shall receive!!
I have to tuck the extra cable behind the dash. It looks better than the photo. You can see in the photo the left sensor going nuts but there is nothing behind me. That sucks....

How 'bout some pics of the sensors themselves? Did you drill through the bumper or are they the stick on kind?
Also, how hard was the whole thing to install, how long did it take?
The interior display looks good BTW.

Here are the pics: The pics arent too good because it's wet outside and i wasnt going to lay down on the ground!
This pic shows where the main wire harness comes throught the rubber g
rommet in the drivers floorpan. I CARFEFULLY took a utility knife and made a slit for the harness to go through.

This pic shows the existing holes that i used to secure the harness.

This is the rear sensor pic. I used the existing holes in the bumper and just cut through the plastic. The hole saw that was provided jumped out of the hole and messed up the finish next to the hole on the passenger side. DOH!

I mounted the control box inside the taillight housing with velcro. I wiped down the box and the wall with alcohol.
The hardest part was finding suitable routing for the wiring. I didn't want it routed through the suspension because of the suspension travel. SOOOO, i made the command decision to drill the three holes which really helped out.
Anywho, i hope this helps you guys.
I hope i can get another sensor or figure out what is wrong with it.

The unit i received had inputs for two more sensors but they were "blocked" off. I think you can get the four sensor unit though.
The pic doesnt do the display justice, especially when not lit.
I am interested to see how the unit works if i leave my hitch in the receiver. I leave it in to keep the tailgaters off me ****!

I have a big pintle style hitch in my reciever and my sensors are in the same location. No problems or false alarms with it there.

BTW, I leave mine in for the same reason. I had a drunk lady in a Honda Accord rear end my Jeep Rubicon with the same hitch in place (us 40mph, her 55-60mph). Destroyed the complete front of the Honda so bad it didn't even have power any more and would no longer run. Her impact was so hard it knocked my Rubicon sideways on the road as she tried to swerve to miss me, all it did was put a little scratch on my hitch. Made her insurance company but me a new one which is now on my FTX, the scatched one is still on the Jeep :-)

I had a 94 year old (!!!!!) woman rearend me with the hitch in place. I was sitting still, she was doing at least 35. It totally destroyed the front of her corolla and barely scratched my bumper, although it did bend the receiver down some. The estimate was only like $1200 or so, but if i didnt have the hitch in, it would have gotten the tailgate and bed. I hope i can keep the hitch in there that's for sure.

Also, could you post a pick on how you mounted the sensor box inside the tail light and also what wires you tapped into? Where is the speaker mounted at? Picture of that would be very helpful also.
BTW..where did you get yours?
Thanks,
Brian
