Door handle problems

Anyone had problems getting their doors open in cold weather yet? The other morning I could not get into my truck, the handles themselves were frozen and it was only about 27 degrees and clear overnight, some frost. Lucky I have my old truck to drive, I just drove it instead. I even tried to spray some of that windshield deicer on my handles and it didn't do a thing. I'd hate to see what it will be like when it snows and ices and gets really cold.

Never had a problem at all. All I can think is that possibly there was some water in the handles that froze. Maybe it rained the night before and then froze? Or you washed the truck recently?

ACtually the last night I drove it, monday, it rained all night. But it sat tuesday all day and all night w/ no rain and then I tried to drive it wednesday morning and could not get the doors open when it was about 27 degrees. That's definitely not a deep freeze to cause that problem. got any suggestions?

Why not? You drove it in the rain then it dropped below freezing? It might not have got warm enough to melt the day it sat.

yeah, it got in the 40's that day after the rain, should have melted well. Not sure what the problem was, but hopefully it won't happen again. Does anyone know of anything you can spray in your door handles or locks that works well for that? Seems like I remember seeing some stuff out there for that, but I've never had to use it.

I guess you'll just have to upgrade to the heated door handle option. LOL It's only a matter of time before they come up with that one. I seen that Buick now has heated washer fluid for de-icing now.

I wish. Heated de-icer fluid is not a bad idea. I use that stuff when there's frost or a little ice on the windshield, if it's not froze up in my reservoir. Even the -40 degrees stuff freezes up sometimes. Bad thing is, that's bad for your wipers. Anyway, thanks for replies. Guess if it freezes, it freezes and I'll figure out a way to get in.
