Suspension Creaks!

Well my front drivers side shock has just started creaking anytime I take off or when the front suspension is unloaded. I am going to call the dealer but I was wondering if they will give me $**t for the AS leveling kit. Do you think they will try to say that warranty wont cover it? I would hate for that to happen and they mark it in the computer and I cant get it fixed under warranty. I dont want to have to remove the levelling kit, take it in, then reinstall the levelling kit and get another alignment. Any suggestions....

Just with my experience at my local dealer, I can assure you that they will give you $**t because of your leveling kit. My dealer refused to touch my truck when I went in for the 3-2 tranny clunk because I had aftermarket wheels on my truck. Nevermind that the tires were the same overall height as the factory wheels and tires, they didn't care because the wheels weren't stock. They seem to find any excuse to not honor the warranty.

I know its a pain, but I think they can very easily blame that on the lift, so I would recommend taking it off. If you just put it back on soon after you return from the dealer, you shouldn't have to have it realigned as long as it is set up the same way as you had it before you took it into the dealer.

They most assuradly will balk at the AS leveling kit and you really cannot blame them. They can easily claim that isntallation of the mod is what is causing this creaking noise. Best of luck

This is why I had my dealer install the kit when I bought the truck. They put the skyjacker kit in many of their trucks as a dealer add-on. Now if something goes wrong I can shift it back onto them. I paid a little more ($400) than most of you but I liked the security. If they give you sh** I would try to go to a different dealer. Good Luck

Are you sure that it's the front suspension? Just checking becuase I had a squeeking noise that I could have sworn came from the left front side that I could only hear when the window was down. When I took it in for warranty they said it was actually the tailgate squeek that was pretty common.

Yes this is definitely the drivers side front. It even creaks when I am sitting still and rev the engine and the whole vehicle torq's. I sprayed everything with WD40 thinking maybe it was something in the top mount but it still creaks. I think I have a bad shock.

If you're gonna take it to the dealer I would remove the autospring, especially since it has been added to the are of the truck that you are complaining about. They will probably deny your warranty claim in a heartbeat once they find that.
