No CEL throwing intakes?
I will say that I have installed an AF1 and I couldn't be any happier with it. I have an 04 model, and the paraminters are set tighter on 04 than 05, so you are 'more' prone to throw a CEL in 04 because Ford had the parimenters set so freakin tight...However, I do have an 04 and have NO complaints on the AF1. Nothing IMO will look better than the T304 Polished Stainless Steel that Marc C. talked about. Pop the hood and 'bam' it's quite an impressive piece of engineering under your hood. I would recomend calling Troyer and going with the AF1/XCal2 combo. Heck of a deal on the combo price. I did, and don't regret one thing.

Keep in mind, I don't favor anyone in particular. I have a K&N intake and a Troyer X-cal. I also have full confidence that my intake will NOT throw a CEL

Thanks Quintin, I asked that question a while back and never received an answer.
Go with the Airaid or AF1. You might as well go with an intake with proven performance on the new F150's. I've had Airaid on for 6k, no problems and would have installed either but I personally don't care for any chrome/polished stainless parts on my truck. ( .. first mod I did was remove the chrome side steps and installed running boards ! ) Airaid had a slight drone sound at 1800rpm but went away after Troyer xcal2 tune was installed.
Seemed to be touch and go with come of these intakes. Some guys got them with the AF1s and Airaids, I think most didn't though.
I went with the K&N, just got my K&N FIPK for my 05 the other day. Probably won't be able to install it until about X-mas time though.

#3 The reason K&N does not cause any CEL's is because it does NOT allow
nearly as much airflow as the Air Force 1 .
#4 The closest CAI to the AF1 in performance is the AirRaid.

Was the Volant tested?

i have the volant on mine, no problems at all has a filter box to keep hot air out, and actually looks like it belongs under the hood. also one of the quieter intakes, compared to others
